Parklands Running Festival

Love running through nature? Come and join us at Sydney’s biggest backyard and run through the nature-filled oasis while challenging yourself with a hilly route.

Join us at Lizard Log in Western Sydney Parklands for a 10km, 5km or 2km (Family Dash) through a picturesque and nature-filled course.

This event offers an exciting mix of natural beauty and a touch of challenge as runners will be required to navigate some tough hills nestled amongst the terrain. The undulating course promises an unforgettable experience for seasoned runners seeking an extra edge in their races or beginners wanting to cross the finish line with a huge sense of accomplishment in their back pocket.

Prizes will be rewarded for teams from social run clubs based on personal bests, not necessarily the fastest! We therefore encourage people of all abilities to get involved; whether you are an avid runner, occasional jogger or leisurely walker – everyone has a chance of winning.

All event finishers will receive a themed medal, post-race snacks, sponsor giveaways and a finishers certificate.

The 2k race is a Family Dash event aimed at getting youngsters involved in healthy outdoor activities. An accompanying adult can run with their child for an additional $10. Register your child first, then add an accompanying adult bib during the registration options. Please note the accompanying adult will not be timed and will not receive a finishers medal.

There are plenty of other outdoor activities at the event village with more details here – https://www.westernsydneyparklands.com.au/places-to-go/lizard-log.

There will be a photographer present on the course taking photos of you, which will be posted on our socials following the race.

There WILL be other pedestrians and cyclists on the paths. We recommend you do not use earphones and you need to pay close attention to everything around you. Please be aware of people, cyclists and dogs.

DO YOU TRAIN WITH A SOCIAL RUN CLUB?

At any Race Hub Australia event, every entrant is eligible to win the big prize. We’re different from other races, in the fact that we award prizes based on overall improvement to individual and team personal bests.

To be eligible for the team prize, you must have a current personal best, be a current member of a running club (social running clubs included), be in an entering team of 4+ runners who have all joined Race Hub Australia’s Strava group.

For example, four members of Rachel’s Runners have entered Race Hub’s inaugural Parklands 10km event. Prior to the event, those four members had an average PB between them of 52 minutes and 30 seconds. At completion of the Race Hub Australia event, they smashed their PB and now have an average PB of 50 minutes and 30 seconds. Therefore, their average improvement within the team is 2 minutes (don’t worry, leave the maths with us).

WANT TO VOLUNTEER?

We are always on the lookout for volunteers on race day to help out with course marshalling and registration. It’s a great way to experience the buzz of race day without having to tie up the laces. In addition to being amongst the energy of the race, Race Hub Australia are delighted to offer volunteers the following as a thank you for their help on the day:

  • Free Race Hub Australia Merchandise
  • Free entry to any future race
  • Post event breakfast with staff and volunteers
