Note: this pace calculator assumes you run at the same pace throughout the race. In reality, many runners prefer to start at a slightly faster pace and get some time ‘in the bank’, assuming they will slow down as they tire. Others prefer to aim for a ‘negative split’ where they run the race’s second half faster than their first half.
