Take a step to feed a family in need!

Hunger is not just a third world issue: 1.2 million Australians experience food insecurity, 1 in 4 South East Qld households can’t afford basic groceries and 50,000 children in Brisbane go without food every day.

Nexus Care is passionate about making a difference to these statistics in the Brisbane community through the Fresh Start Food Program.

- Every month, Nexus Care provides approx 9,000 meals through our food relief program, which is equal to over 108,000 meals per year!
- Every week, Nexus Care supports four schools with fun, healthy school breakfast programs
- Every fortnight, Nexus Care runs cooking classes to help empower people experiencing hardship with the skills to cook healthy, cheap meals for themselves and their families

By being a part of the Fresh Startathon, you can help Nexus Care support more individuals and families in our Brisbane community with nutritious food and empower people with the knowledge and skills to provide healthy meals for their families.

The event is light-hearted and fun with music, food, face painting, a jumping castle and a visit by Nexus Care's mascot, Apple Man! Prizes will be given to top fundraisers, and for 1st across the line in the events.

All funds raised from the event will go towards supporting Nexus Care's Fresh Start Food Program
