South Australia > Adelaide > Heysen 105Sir Wilhelm Ernst Hans Franz Heysen OBE (known commonly as Hans) was a prominent South Australian artist and 9 times winner of the Wynne Prize. Famed for his Australian landscape paintings, he grew inspiration from the beauty of the Adelaide Hills through to the Flinders Ranges. It would be no coincidence that the 1200klm long world famous Heysen Trail traversing the same landscape is named after him.
It’s no secret that the Heysen Trail is stunning with those varying landscapes throughout the entire length of the trail, and the Fleurieu Peninsula is no exception.
When Heysen 105 was offered to Ultra Series to take on board in 2020, we were honoured and humbled to be part of such a dream event. Record entries, incredible numbers of volunteers, unsurpassed atmosphere and such a brilliant vibe heralded Heysen 2020 as the best ever. And now we get to do it all again!
