Running Events > Victoria > Mildura Riverfront Marathon Festival

The inaugural Mildura Riverfront Marathon Festival will be held on Sunday 9th June 2024 (the June long weekend for Vic, SA & NSW) on a course that runs along the banks of the mighty River Murray and incorporates the Mildura Weir parkrun course. All abilities and ages are catered for - from the elite marathon runner to the weekend jogger or walker on a course that is very flat (apart from some very minor inclines). The event starts and finishes at the Powerhouse Precinct on Hugh King Drive where there is a cafe, LOTS of toilets and the beautifully refurbished Powerhouse Hall that will be our admin centre for the day.

The marathon, half-marathon, 10km and 5km events all include some or all of the Mildura Weir parkrun course ( https://www.parkrun.com.au/milduraweir/course/ )

So if you are local (and not a parkrun regular) or an out-of-towner who arrives on the Friday, how about you do the parkrun on the Saturday morning as homework for the Sunday event!

An iconic medal will be awarded to all 5km, 10km, half marathon and marathon finishers and a very cool event t-shirt is currently in the design phase and will be promoted soon.

For those keen to spend the weekend in the region there are just so many things to see and do. The website https://www.visitmildura.com.au/ has all the info on local attractions and accommodation options that include houseboats! Wouldn't that be fun?
