Victoria > Ballarat Christmas Fun RunThe Ballarat Christmas Fun Run is a relaxed community running event designed to give people a chance to connect, have some fun (Christmas-related dress-ups encouraged!), support two great causes and be active amid the hectic month of December.
Offering accessible distances across 3.2km, 7km, 10km and 13km (as well as the Micro Marathon for little ones!), the overarching theme of the event is "Enjoy being healthy across the festive period".
The Ballarat Christmas Fun Run aims to raise crucial funds and awareness for our charity partners Grampians Health (via the Ballarat Health Services Foundation) and Foodbank Victoria.
Foodbank Victoria’s Community Food Centre in Ballarat helps people maintain access to healthy food by distributing food to 38 charities and 47 schools across Ballarat and the surrounding Local Government Areas, including Moorabool, Central Goldfields, Golden Plains, Hepburn and Pyrenees.
The Christmas Fun Run also has a strong link to the successful Ballarat Marathon, held in the city each April https://www.ballaratmarathon.com.au/
The free 16-week Ballarat Marathon training plans, which are made available on the event website, commence on Monday 5 January: we’re pleased to announce that the Ballarat Christmas Fun Run will feature experts from Runners Prep who can advise people on how best to prepare themselves for the various distances offered at the Ballarat Marathon and answer other running-related questions.
